Short Films of the North East Film Nights
I'm a big fan of film - and not just the Hollywood blockbuster movies - I have a passion for the micro to low budget grassroots films made by people who do it for their love and passion for story telling. I even do little bits of acting and filmmaking myself. Using my skills in event coordination, communication and marketing, I have ran film events for the North East film making network to showcase their work. 'Short films of the North East' began in 2015 starting as a one off screening of my 2015 featurette, 'White Rabbit,' but the success and demand for a live screening of films in Tyne and Wear was so great that more events came as a result. Previous years have been immensely successful with attendances of 30 to 140.
Due to the popularity, what was originally an annual event soon became a seasonal events with screenings in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Although this format of the events has ran its course due to the most used venue changing management and no longer being available. I do continue to work as a hobbyist film writer and producer.
